This past Saturday evening the Big Water Sailing Club had a wonderful event: THE CHANGING OF THE GUARD! Robert's comments started out with - "My wees are kneak." Commodore Robert Collins sailed to offshore waters. I think he might have been sailing something white and porcelain the next morning.
Ryan & Jennifer Ryan moved up to Commodore. Mark & Tracey Miller were voted in as Vice Commodore. Spouses must be included in the listing because we all know the guys couldn't get the job done without them. Jennifer created a festive South Seas environment out of a very plain setting, provided some stunning desserts, and great food. Kudos to you Jennifer!
Everything was great!
The food was catered by Cedric Martin - SATCHAMO'S. A nice succulent young pig layed out on the grill. The meat was flavorful, lean, and cooked just right. We had a good turnout in spite of the weather predictions.
The party, even though we had some heavy rain showers, was dry. One side of the Pavillion was covered in heavy plastic sheeting. It kept the rain at bay. Festive hanging lights, and decorations brought the South Seas to Lake Hartwell. I think that helped Robert float away.
Trophies were presented for the past year to a few skipper's beside Mike McCammon. Mike has come a long way in the last couple of years. He implied that it might be time for others to challenge him. Bob, it looks like you are.
The gift to Ryan is a likeness of him with a bottle of rum inside.

Almost all dressed the part. We even had a Rastafarian in dreds.
